LAST MINUTE: The actor Michael Biehn will not join the Festival as it had been previously announced.

JURY OF THE FEATURE FILMS OFICIAL SECTION AND SHORT FILMS COMPETITIONS

We announce that Morjana Alaoui, actress who became known internationally with his masterful performance in the film “Martyrs”, will join our 2011 edition . The film directed by Pascal Laugier in 2008 (Melies D’Argent winner and Melies D’Or), was on 2010 edition the film that replaced “A Serbian Film” (Srdjan Spasojevic, 2010) since its projection was canceled in the last minute because its projection was forbidden by the Spanish Authorities. Morjanea has also worked in films such as Marock (Laila Marrakchi, 2005) Official Selection in Cannes, “Un Certain Regard ” and “Die zwei Leben des Daniel Shore” (Michael Dreher, 2009).

Morjana will chair the jury of the Feature Films Official Section together with Quim Casas film critic and Alex Brendemühl actor and director; awarded prizes will be Best Picture, Best Director and Best Performance.

On the other hand, the jury of X Horror and Gore Short Film Competition will be, Jaume Ripoll, Filmin director; Gerardo Herrero winer of the IX Horror and Gore Short Film Competition; Diego López responsible Brigadoon Fantastic Film Festival of Sitges and “El Buque Maldito” editor; David Jordan, artistic director and member of the TAC Cardoterror (Terror arreu de Catalunya) and Blai Morell journalist and film critic. They will be responsible for delivering the first and second prize of the jury, Best Makeup and FX and finally Victor Israel Prize for best performance.

Las películas que formarán parte de la Sección Oficial Competitiva son: The orphan killer (Matt Farnsworth, 2011), la cual estará presentada por el cast de la película, The last employee (Alexander Adolph, 2010), Territories (Olivier Abbou, 2010), Sennentuntschi (Michael Steiner, 2010), Vile (Taylor Sheridan, 2011), Blood runs cold (Sonny Laguna, 2011), todas ellas premiers españolas, y también Madison County (Eric England, 2011), premier europea y también presentada por los resposables de la película.

The retrospective of the 90 films will feature Braindead (Peter Jackson, 1992), The Army of Darkness (Sam Raimi, 1992) and The Dentist (Brian Yuzna, 1996). The “surprise film” projected during the 12 Hours marathon will be part of the retrospective as well.
